You all know the kind of day I'm talking about.
What do you do to unwind after a particularly exasperating day? This may come as a surprise to you, but I find that I tend to put on a mind numbing TV show and binge eat anything chocolate or shaped like a cracker. Oh, you noticed? right...
I think I'll be a better wife some day thanks to my frustrating days at the office. You know, the ones where the internet goes the speed of a granddaddy turtle right when you need to send a large file, or when you can't seem to make anything work right, or your power flickers out right before you save a big document....or when all of those happen in one day, combined with huge personal disappointment and having to make impossible decisions that are going to hurt someone's feelings no matter what you choose.
Right. It was a long day, my friends.
So rather than eat a burger and fries while watching Glee (which was my plan until a beggar broke my heart and changed my mind about the way I planned to use my money), today I am going to try to catch up on a few of my talented friends.
I've given you 5? Okay. Today let's look in South Africa.
6. Chelsea is cool. Her talent isn't being cool, although she's pretty good at it. If you know me, you know I hate tree hugging leaf eating people, most of the time. But guess what? Chelsea is an environmentally conscious vegetarian who doesn't make me want to scream. That's a talent in itself, but the talent I want to highlight today is her carefree and excessively awesome ability to use Adobe products. As I was despairing and failing and making a "graphic" that looked like something a 4 year old might make in powerpoint (if only I could have added sound effects), she hopped in and made THIS gemL

I am sure you think someone in the world exists who is more awesomely talented at this than Chelsea. You might be right, but because of the undying gratitude in my heart I refuse to listen to a word you say.
7. Yolisa.
Yolisa is talented in beating the crap out of you. Not in a mean way, although I'm sure she'd go for it if you are being a meanie head or a complete aggravation to the world. Yolisa is a martial arts master. Yea, that's not the real word for it, but seriously. She makes kicking you in the face look easy. I am positive it is not, because I just got up and tried. If you want me to kick you in the face, you're going to have to lay down.

Yolisa is also talented at having the most incredibly soft skin and hair ever in the entire world.
Word of advice: If she ever has reason to fight you, just get your hand on her hair and start massaging. It's her kryptonite.
8. Tim Black
Tim is talented at a lot of things, especially coffee and chatting. But today I discovered a new talent that I appreciate in him. Tim is talented at making hard decisions. You know, the kind where both options are terrible, you have to make a choice right then and live with it, and your decision is going to have a direct, negative impact on someone you care about.
I go hide in a closet and feel sad and avoid the decision and hope it goes away. Tim just makes a choice, deals with it, and can be laughing an hour later. I don't get it. I assume it is a man thing, but still. I admire him, and I consider that to be a talent.
9/10. Some of my Dv8 Youth have talent.
There's Rachelle, the crazy vocal delight:

Who is only a BABY, starts her matric next year (senior year, for you Americans).
And Sam (the girl kind of Sam), the crazy artist:

I don't know about you, but I'm starting to feel a little bit silly for having no talents whatsoever...
So now I'm only 2 days behind (Take THAT unnamed pestering sister) and I promise to catch up fully by the end of tomorrow.
And I promise to fall behind yet again when I hop on a long flight HOME for Thanksgiving! I am bursting with excitement! And I hope I get to see YOU while I am there. :)
Much love,
Your untalented friend/sister/daughter/niece/archenemy/whatever,
Amy
